2,162 students complete ALP program in Madaris across Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Jan 24 (APP): As part of the Accelerated Learning Pathway (ALP) Middle Tech initiative launched by the Federal Ministry of Education and Professional Training, 2,162 students have completed the ALP program in religious seminaries across Pakistan.
According to documents available with Wealth Pakistan, 100 ALP schools have been established nationwide in all provinces and Azad Jammu & Kashmir, covering 15 districts. The program aims to provide accelerated primary and middle-level education to students enrolled in the seminaries, enabling them to acquire academic qualifications alongside technical skills.
Official figures show that around 1,800 students are currently enrolled in the ALP Middle Tech program, while 100 teachers have been trained in modern pedagogical skills to improve the quality of instruction.
To support learning, the program provides textbooks, notebooks, stationery, internet access, and computers, ensuring students have access to both traditional and digital educational resources.
In addition to academic learning, the initiative places strong emphasis on vocational and technical training. Students are being trained in practical trades, including tailoring, electrical work, plumbing, cooking, and beautician skills, aimed at enhancing employability and self-reliance.
A ministry official told Wealth Pakistan that the initiative will contribute to human capital development and poverty reduction, particularly among underprivileged communities, by equipping students with market-relevant skills. He said the ALP Middle Tech initiative reflects the government’s broader efforts to align religious education with national development priorities, promoting inclusive education and sustainable economic growth.
