ISLAMABAD, Oct 24 (APP):A two-day national workshop on digitalization of examination process was concluded on Friday, aimed to promote transparency and efficiency while raising awareness among other boards across the country regarding its standardization and implementation.
The workshop was jointly organized by Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) and Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC).
Chairman Federal Board Dr Ikram Ali Malik and Executive Director IBCC Dr Ghulam Ali Mallah warmly welcomed Wajiha Qamar, Federal Minister of State for Education and Professional Training (FE&PT) & Federal Secretary of Education, Nadeem Mahboob and the participants, said a press release.
The two-day workshop was attended by chairmen, controllers and IT officers of examination boards across the country.
Wajiha Qamar, Federal Minister of State, while addressing the participants on the concluding day of workshop, appreciated the digital reforms and leadership of the Federal Board.
She said that the Federal Board took an exemplary step by digitizing the examination centers a few years ago, under which effective monitoring of students, teachers and examination centers was possible through biometric system and real-time dashboard.
Wajiha Qamar reminded that Fatima Tahira, Secretary Federal Board and Controller of Examinations, played a key role in monitoring this system.
She further said that the visionary leadership of Chairman Federal Board Dr Ikram Ali Malik has brought significant improvement in transparency, speed and efficiency in the examination system through effective use of modern technology.
“These successful digital reforms of the Federal Board are a great role model for other education boards,” she added.
The Minister of State emphasized that digital technology and artificial intelligence (AI) should be made an integral part of the education system, as it was a means of improving the education system, promoting merit and transparency.
Expressing her best wishes to all the participants, she said, “The Ministry of Education will continue to fully cooperate with all the examination boards in this digital reform journey.”
Federal Secretary Nadeem Mehboob, in his address, encouraged the participants and reiterated regarding ministry support.
On this occasion, Dr Ghulam Ali Mallah said that digital transformation of the examination system is a joint mission.
“Technology will improve transparency and efficiency,” he said.
Chairman Federal Board Dr Ikram Ali Malik presented a detailed overview of digital reforms in the examination system and the use of technology and its transfer to other boards.
At the end, Dr Ikram Ali Malik gave a detailed tour of the printing and scanning process of modern examination copies and one-window sales of the Federal Board to the chairmen and representatives of all education boards from all over the country.
In this regard, Ministry of Education and Professional Training, IBCC, and the Federal Board planning a special one-week training program for IT experts, technology fellows, and experts associated with testing and evaluation from all over Pakistan, including Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, all provinces and Islamabad.
