18 lawbreakers in handcuffs as ICT Police recover drugs, weapons

ISLAMABAD, Feb 10 (APP): Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police arrested 18 lawbreakers in a series of operations across the federal capital and recovered drugs, illegal weapons and liquor from their possession.
A police spokesperson told APP on Tuesday that police teams from Phulgran, Bhara Kahu, Lohi Bher, Noon, Shams Colony, Tarnol, Aabpara, Kohsar and Khanna police stations arrested 11 accused involved in various criminal activities during targeted actions.
The spokesperson said that during the operations, police recovered 1,170 grams of hashish, 60 bottles of liquor, six pistols with ammunition and a dagger from the arrested suspects. Separate cases were registered against them and further investigation is underway.

In addition, during a special campaign against proclaimed offenders and absconders, various police teams apprehended seven more criminals, bringing the total number of arrests to 18.
The spokesperson said the operations were carried out under the special directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, as part of an ongoing crackdown against crime and criminal elements to maintain peace and tranquility in the federal capital.
He reiterated that Islamabad Police remains fully committed to protecting the lives and property of citizens and will not allow any elements to disturb public peace.
