ISLAMABAD, Aug 13 (APP): Islamabad will host a public parade on August 14, at the Old Parade Ground in D-Chowk, with activities starting from 5:00 pm.
Organized by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the Islamabad Capital Territory Administration, the event will be open to the public and will feature music performances, cultural displays, parade units, and family entertainment.
The city administration has invited residents to join the Independence Day celebrations and take part in a programme designed to bring together people from different backgrounds. The event will mark Pakistan’s Independence Day with performances by artists, bands, police squads, and cultural groups.
According to the event plan, the music segment will include performances by Nimra Mehra, Sahir Ali Bagga, and Khumariyan Band. The parade section will feature Islamabad Police squads, the Jhang Dance Group, dhol performers, pipe and percussion bands, and a camel band.
Several activities have also been arranged for families and children. These include mascot appearances, performances by Rafi Peer mascots, a display of vintage cars, a vintage bike squad, and a fireworks show scheduled as part of the evening programme.
Officials said the event aims to provide a platform for citizens to celebrate Independence Day together while highlighting cultural traditions and public participation. The gathering is expected to attract families, young people, and visitors from across the capital.
Authorities have encouraged residents to attend with their families and friends and take part in the August 14 celebrations at the Old Parade Ground. The programme will begin at 5:00 pm and continue into the evening with a series of performances and public attractions.
