138th birth anniversary of poet philosopher Allama Iqbal on November 9

ISLAMABAD, Nov 6 (APP): The nation will celebrate 138th birth
anniversary of poet-philosopher and conceiver of idea of Pakistan Dr.
Allama Muhammad Iqbal with traditional zeal across the country on Monday.
Born on November 9, 1877 in Sialkot, Dr. Iqbal was a great
representative of the subcontinent and one of the main exponents of the Pakistan Movement. Called the Sufi poet of the modern age he was a man of great ideas –
dynamics, romanticism and profound. Iqbal was both a great poet, serious thinker and philosopher, who infused a revolutionary spirit in the Muslim youth of the subcontinent at the time through his poetry. Iqbal’s poetry has been translated in Spanish, Chinese, Japanese,English and several other languages.
To mark the day, people from different sections of the society paid
visit to the birth place of Allama Muhammad Iqbal in Sialkot and Iqbal Museum in Lahore, where he breathed his last. They also visited Mazar-e-Iqbal in Lahore to pay homage to the national hero.The poet-philosopher died on April 21, 1938.
