ISLAMABAD, Jun 10 (APP):As many as 12 reports of various Senate standing committees were presented before the Upper House of the Parliament on Wednesday, covering a wide range of legislative, administrative and public policy matters.
The reports were presented by the respective committee chairpersons and members, outlining recommendations, observations and progress on issues referred to the committees for detailed scrutiny and oversight.
As per details, the reports presented in the Senate included report of the Committee on a bill to repeal the Pakistan International Airlines Corporation (Conversion) Act, 2016 [The Pakistan International Airlines Corporation (Conversion) (Repeal) Bill, 2026] and Standing Committee on Planning, Development and Special Initiatives’ report of the Committee on the subject matter of a Motion under Rule 218 moved by Senator Mohsin Aziz on 19th January, 2026, regarding the issue of exit of Multinational companies from Pakistan and its adverse impact on Foreign Direct Investment and potential job losses.
Similarly, Functional Committee on Human Rights’ periodical report of the Committee was also presented on a matter referred by the House regarding Resolution No. 584 passed by the Senate on 8th March, 2025, calling for affirmative action against persistent disparities and challenges faced by women and girls in the country, moved by Senator Sherry Rehman and others.
Functional Committee on Human Rights’ report of the Committee was presented on a point of public importance raised by Senator Aimal Wali Khan on 19th January, 2026, regarding the revocation of visas of Afghan women.
Senator Atta-Ur-Rehman, Chairman, Standing Committee on Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony presented report of the Committee on a Calling Attention Notice moved by Senator Manzoor Ahmed on 16th May, 2025, regarding delay in fund transfer for Hajj 2025 depriving 67,000 pilgrims to perform Hajj.
Standing Committee on Interior and Narcotics Control’s committee report was presented on a bill to amend the Islamabad Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2020 [The Islamabad Real Estate (Regulation and Development) (Amendment) Bill, 2026], introduced by Senator Mohsin Aziz on 23rd February, 2026.
Standing Committee on Interior and Narcotics Control’s committee’s report was presented on a bill further to amend the Passports Act, 1974 [The Passports (Amendment) Bill, 2026], introduced by Senator Mohammad Abdul Qadir on 11th May, 2026.
Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat’s report was presented by the committee on the budgetary allocation and its utilization by the Cabinet Secretariat, in terms of sub-rule (4) of Rule 166 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Senate, 2012.
Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat’s report was presented by the Committee on the Public Sector Development Program, in terms of sub-rule (7) of Rule 166 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Senate, 2012.
