10 more BHUs in Islamabad to offer specialist consultations

ISLAMABAD, Nov 02 (APP): The District Health Office (DHO) Islamabad on Monday said that in collaboration with Sehat Kahani, 10 additional Basic Health Units (BHUs) would provide specialist healthcare consultations to improve access to quality medical services at the primary healthcare level in the federal capital.

The initiative aims to facilitate patients by providing timely medical advice and specialist consultations closer to their communities.
The expansion is expected to reduce travel difficulties for patients, particularly those requiring specialist medical advice, while helping ease the burden on major hospitals.
The project will strengthen primary healthcare services through technology-based solutions and improve access to medical consultations for residents of Islamabad.
The initiative also supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
The DHO said the initiative reflected ongoing efforts to use digital health solutions to make healthcare services more accessible, efficient and inclusive.
