Minister directs to prepare more projects for speedy progress of railways

LAHORE, Aug 5 (APP): Pakistan Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique on Friday directed the PR administration to prepare small projects besides big ones like Public Private Partnership and BOT so the department could progress speedily.

Presiding over a high level meeting at PR Headquarters here,
he directed to make project of upgradation of Lahore-Faislabad, Lahore-Narowal-Chak Amru-Sialkot-Wazirabad, SamaSata, Bahawalnagar and Amroka sections.

He also directed to prepare more projects like Quetta, Bostan, Zhob-Dera Ismail Khan project to improve freight and passenger sectors of the railways, adding that such projects would be helpful in linking Mainline-1 and Mainline-2.

The minister looked into the development of feasibility reports regarding several projects.

PR Chairperson Parveen Agha, Chief Executive Officer M Javaid Anwar, Advisor Railways Anjum Pervaiz, Secretary Railway Board Aftab Akbar and several other senior officers
attended the meeting.
