WSSCM, UET signed MoU to use AI in public service delivery

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Water and Sanitation Services Company Mardan (WSSCM) and the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Mardan to promote research and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in public service delivery.

PESHAWAR, Apr 06 (APP): A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Water and Sanitation Services Company Mardan (WSSCM) and the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Mardan to promote research and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in public service delivery.
The MoU was signed by Chairman Board of Directors WSSCM, Engineer Adil Nawaz, and Vice Chancellor of UET Mardan, Professor Dr. Gul Muhammad Khan.
The agreement establishes a strategic partnership between the two institutions aimed at leveraging their expertise in public services, AI systems design, and mass utilities management. The collaboration seeks to enhance transparency, improve efficiency, and strengthen monitoring and delivery mechanisms in public services.
Under the agreement, WSSCM will provide its operational facilities, data, systems, and technical support to facilitate research and practical projects. Both institutions have also agreed to jointly pursue research initiatives, funding opportunities, and grants at national and international levels.
The partnership will create opportunities for students and researchers to participate in practical projects, fostering innovation and enhancing their capabilities.
To oversee the collaboration, a joint steering committee will be established comprising representatives from both organizations. The committee will be responsible for approving projects and ensuring their effective implementation.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman BoD Engr. Adil Nawaz emphasized the importance of integrating modern technologies into public service systems to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.
Vice Chancellor UET Mardan, Professor Dr. Gul Muhammad Khan, highlighted that collaboration between academia and industry is crucial for promoting innovation and addressing real world challenges.
