Wildlife staff conducts field operation to curb falcon trafficking, poaching
PESHAWAR, Sep 24 (APP):Divisional Wildlife Officer Peshawar Manahil Wahab, along with Range Officer Wildlife Peshawar and field staff, conducted a field operation in suburban areas, including Saran Telaband Mera, Maryamzai and Shego Mera, to curb illegal wildlife trafficking and poaching.
The operation was conducted to monitor various points and prevent illegal falcon trapping during the ongoing falcon migration season.
During the operation, individuals found involved in illegal falcon trapping were proceeded against and fined on the spot in accordance with the law.
The field staff were directed to maintain intensive and continuous monitoring of the area and remain vigilant against illegal hunting, trapping, poaching, and other violations of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Wildlife & Biodiversity Act, 2015.
“Peshawar Wildlife Division maintains zero tolerance for illegal capture and trafficking of falcons, as well as unlawful quail trapping and other wildlife offences,” Manahil Wahab said.
She warned that strict action would be taken against violators in accordance with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Wildlife & Biodiversity Act, 2015.
