Wheelchairs, white canes, sewing machines distributed among special persons,deserving citizens

The District Administration Abbottabad Wednesday organized a special ceremony at Jalal Baba Auditorium to distribute assistance and essential equipment among persons with disabilities, visually impaired individuals, and other deserving citizens.

ABBOTTABAD, Jun 17 (APP):The District Administration Abbottabad Wednesday organized a special ceremony at Jalal Baba Auditorium to distribute assistance and essential equipment among persons with disabilities, visually impaired individuals, and other deserving citizens.
The event was held on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad, Sarmad Saleem Akram, as part of ongoing efforts aimed at the welfare, rehabilitation, and empowerment of special persons and underprivileged segments of society.
Deputy Commissioner Sarmad Saleem Akram attended the ceremony and interacted with participants, listening to their concerns and assuring them of continued support and prompt relief. Additional Deputy Commissioner Finance and Planning, Azki Fatima, was also present on the occasion.
During the ceremony, relief items including wheelchairs, white canes, sewing machines, and first-aid kits were distributed among beneficiaries. According to officials, 25 white canes, 10 wheelchairs, and 22 sewing machines were handed over to deserving individuals. Furthermore, 20 first-aid kits were provided to Rescue 1122, Social Welfare, Special Education offices, and other related institutions.
Speaking at the event, the Deputy Commissioner said the district administration was utilizing all available resources to promote the rehabilitation and self-reliance of persons with disabilities and help them become active members of society. He added that such initiatives were aimed at ensuring a dignified life for deserving citizens and reducing the difficulties they face in their daily lives.
Officials from the Special Education Department, Social Welfare Department, and other relevant agencies also attended the ceremony and appreciated the administration’s efforts to support vulnerable segments of society.
