Use modern media to counter propaganda against KP, says Governor
PESHAWAR, Oct 15 (APP): Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Thursday chaired a meeting at the Governor House to review the performance of the provincial Information and Public Relations Department and directed officials to strengthen public communication through modern and digital media platforms.
The meeting was attended by Adviser to Governor on Information and Public Relations Samar Haroon Bilour, Secretary Information Dr Muhammad Bakhtiar Khan, Director General Information Ansarullah Khilji and other senior officials.
Secretary Information Dr Muhammad Bakhtiar Khan briefed the Governor on the department’s administrative structure, human resources, overall performance and the working of its various wings. The briefing also covered the Public Relations, Communication, Press Registrar, FM Radio and Digital Directorate sections.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Kundi said the Information Department should play a key role in projecting a positive image of the province and effectively communicating government initiatives, policies and public welfare programmes to the people.
He said the public-interest measures and development priorities of the Advisory Council should also be disseminated effectively through the department’s communication network.
The Governor further directed the department to make full use of modern media and digital platforms to counter propaganda against the province and promote a positive narrative.
