GUJRAT, Jul 14 (APP): The District Health Authority (DHA) on Tuesday sealed three illegal medical centers in Kharian tehsil during an ongoing crackdown against quackery for providing treatment without valid qualifications or legal authorization. According to official sources, the operation was conducted under the supervision of the Chief Executive Officer (Health), Gujrat, and led by Deputy District Health Officer (DDHO) Kharian, Dr.Usama Tahir.
Inspection teams raided Akeef Clinic in Purana Kotla, Zainab Medical Store and Clinic in Sarsala, and Bashir Clinic in Sarsala. Officials said the teams found patients being treated by individuals lacking recognized medical qualifications or legal authorization. A large quantity of medicines, used syringes, and injections were seized during the inspections. At Zainab Medical Store and Clinic, a patient was found receiving an intravenous (IV) drip.
The authorities sealed all three facilities on the spot after collecting evidence and referred the cases to the Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC) for further legal proceedings. Health officials said the anti-quackery campaign would continue across the district to curb illegal medical practices and protect public health.
