Teenager drowns while bathing in Indus river

KOHAT, Jul 1 (APP): A 17-year-old boy on Wednesday drowned while bathing in   River, Indus in Shakardara area near Makhad Sharif, the Rescue 1122 sources said.

The teenager, identified as Shabbir, a resident of Lakki Marwat district, was swept away by the river, they added.

A specialized water rescue team from Rescue 1122 was dispatched to the scene after receiving the emergency call and launched a search operation. The team recovered the body from the river after a brief search, the sources said.

After completing the required legal formalities, the rescue personnel handed over the body to the victim’s family.
