Students join hands with community members in Independence celebration at Upper Chitral
PESHAWAR, Aug 15 (APP):Students join hands with community members and district officials in Upper Chitral for Independence celebration with national zeal, patriotic spirit and enthusiasm.
The gathering was arranged at Government High School Booni by HUJRA Village Support Organization (HUJRA VSO) and Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF), in collaboration with the District Administration Upper Chitral and District Education Office Upper Chitral.
Principal Government High School Booni Ahmed Wali Durrani presided over the ceremony, while District Education Officer Upper Chitral Mahmood Ghaznavi was chief guest.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Commissioner Upper Chitral, Muhammad Imran Khan, ADC Moazzam Ali Bangash, DPO Upper Chitral Zia Hassan, President Ismaili Regional Council Upper Chitral, Imtiaz Alam and others.
The event began with flag-hoisting ceremony led by Deputy Commissioner, Muhammad Imran Khan and other officials. Students presented salute to the national flag and sang the national anthem, filling the venue with patriotic fervour.
In his welcome address, Principal Ahmed Wali Durrani warmly welcomed the guests and participants. Students presented Hamd, Naat, national songs and speeches in Urdu and English languages besides taking part in a quiz competition, showcasing their talent and patriotic spirit.
Students who secured outstanding positions in various competitions and those who achieved top positions in the recently announced Grade 9 and Grade 10 examination results were awarded trophies and certificates of appreciation by HUJRA VSO in recognition of their achievements.
Addressing the gathering, HUJRA representative Tasaur Hussain highlighted the achievements and contributions of HUJRA VSO and PPAF towards community development and welfare.
He said climate change would remain one of the major challenges in the coming years and stressed the need for urgent attention to tree plantation, environmental protection and climate-resilient initiatives.
Chief Guest Mahmood Ghaznavi said that Pakistan was a great blessing from Almighty Allah and had been achieved through the countless sacrifices rendered by the nation’s forefathers.
He emphasized that it was the collective responsibility of every citizen to protect and safeguard the country and contribute to its progress, peace and prosperity.
In his concluding remarks, Principal Ahmed Wali Durrani thanked all distinguished guests, students and officials, particularly PPAF and HUJRA VSO, for their participation and continued support for educational and community-based initiatives.
