SHO among six cops martyred in IED blast in Lakki Marwat

Six policemen, including a Station House Officer (SHO), were martyred and one injured when an improvised explosive device (IED) targeted a police vehicle during a patrol in Lakki Marwat on Friday.

PESHAWAR, Mar 13 (APP): Six policemen, including a Station House Officer (SHO), were martyred and one injured when an improvised explosive device (IED) targeted a police vehicle during a patrol in Lakki Marwat on Friday.

According to the District Police Officer, the incident occurred near Rasul Khel check post within the jurisdiction of Saddar Shaadi Khel Police Station in the Bettani area.

The police vehicle was on routine patrol on the main road linking Shaadi Khel and Masti Khel when the IED exploded.

As a result of the blast, SHO Sadr Azam embraced martyrdom along with Constable Shah Behram (driver), Constable Shah Khalid, Constable Haji Muhammad (ATS), Constable Gul Zada (ATS), and Constable Sakhi Zada (ATS).

One constable, Insafuddin, sustained injuries in the explosion and was shifted to a nearby medical facility for treatment.

Security forces and police rushed to the site soon after the blast and cordoned off the area, while an investigation into the incident had been launched.
