ABBOTTABAD, Jun 23 (APP):The traditional procession of the 7th of Muharram concluded peacefully in Abbottabad on Tuesday after passing through its designated routes and culminating at the Central Imambargah amid stringent security arrangements.
DC Sarmad Saleem Akram and District Police Officer (DPO) Haroon Rashid Khan jointly inspected the procession routes to review law and order, security measures, and administrative arrangements.
Senior officials, including SSP Traffic Ishtiaq Khan, SP Cantt Ali Hamza Butt, Assistant Commissioner Abbottabad Afrasiab Zubair Hundal, and other civil and police officers, remained present on the ground to monitor the situation throughout the event.
According to the district administration, comprehensive security arrangements were put in place along the procession route. Personnel of the police, traffic police, and other law enforcement agencies were deployed at key points to ensure the safety of mourners and maintain peace.
Special traffic management measures were also implemented to ensure smooth vehicular movement and facilitate participants in the procession.
Officials of the district administration and police appreciated the cooperation of mourners, organizers, and the public, stating that the procession concluded in a peaceful environment due to mutual coordination, religious harmony, and responsible conduct by all stakeholders.
The district administration reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of citizens, promoting interfaith and sectarian harmony, and ensuring effective arrangements during Muharram-ul-Haram.
