DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Jul 14 (APP): The Dera police have arrested seven suspects and seized illegal weapons during search and strike operations conducted across the district as part of an ongoing campaign against criminal elements.
The operations were launched on the directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Ziauddin Ahmed to curb crime and tighten security across the district. The police teams, supervised by the respective deputy superintendents of police (DSPs), carried out coordinated raids targeting proclaimed offenders, extortionists, thieves, robbers and other suspected criminals. During the operations, the police searched 45 houses and conducted a search operation in one village. More than 50 motorcycles and vehicles were also checked at various points to monitor suspicious movement and enhance security. As a result of the crackdown, seven suspects involved in different criminal activities were arrested. The police also recovered two pistols and 10 rounds of ammunition from their possession. The cases have also been registered against the suspects.DPO Ziauddin Ahmed reaffirmed the police’s commitment to maintaining law and order, preventing crime and ensuring the safety of citizens. He said search and strike operations and snap checking would continue across the district to ensure a secure and peaceful environment for the public.
