SCCI for reforms to rationalize taxes, ease of doing business and relief initiatives for KP traders

President, Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), Malik Imran Ishaq called for further reforms and initiatives to rationalize the present taxation system, ease of doing business, slashing the high energy, gas tariffs, special relief measures to alleviate the economic owes of the KP business community.

PESHAWAR, Oct 06 (APP): President, Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), Malik Imran Ishaq called for further reforms and initiatives to rationalize the present taxation system, ease of doing business, slashing the high energy, gas tariffs, special relief measures to alleviate the economic owes of the KP business community.
SCCI chief while talking to various trader delegations during their visit to the chamber house to extend felicitations to him and other office bearers and executive committee of the chamber said the business community is fully committed to continuation play role in economy prosperity and growth but government must take measures to facilitate them at every level.
Apart from senior vice president Naeem ur Rehamn, vice president Abid Pervaiz Awan of the chamber, the Businessman Forum leader and former FPCCI president Ghazanfar Bilour, Anjuman E Tajran Lifetime President and former president Haji Muhammad Afzal, Chairman Anjuman e Tajraan Peshawar Shaukat Ali Khan, traders leader Inayat Khan, APCNGA Chairman Pervez Khan Khattak, Luqman Shah, Majid Khan, former presidents Zahidullah Shinwari, Hasnain Khurshid, Faiz Muhammad Faizi, Engr Maqsood Anwar Pervez, former senior vice president Muhammad Nadeem, former and present members of the executive committee, Coordinator Pak-Afghan Joint Chambers of Commerce and Industry Ziaul Haq Sarhadi, Director Imtiaz Ahmad Ali, Muhammad Taimoor, dozens of trader delegations from various city bazars, market and union and associations along with old parts and furniture sector and delegation of Helping Hand Organisation were visited the chamber and extended heartfelt congratulates to the SCCI’s new cabinet.
Delegation of the PAJCCI highlighted Pak-Afghan traders’ economic owes due to prolonged closure of the Torkham border, inflicting billions of dollar trade loss to them and declining the bilateral trade volume exponentially.
Other traders’ delegations put various issues on table, mostly relating imposition of irrational federal and provincial taxes with exorbitant rate, refund issues, anti-business actions, customs, FBR, local administration, PESCO, SNGPL,WSSP and other relevant departments/authorities.
Malik Imran Ishaq while reaffirming his commitment toward serving the business community selflessly and said KP businessmen suffered enormously due to unfavorable circumstances, urging the government to pay serious attention to issues being faced by the business community.
SCCI assured the traders and industrial community of all-out efforts to address their challenges through close coordination with relevant government institutions.
