Rs.1 billion reconstruction of Havelian Ayub Bridge progresses as alternate road nears completion

HAVELIAN, Jul 09 (APP):Construction work on the alternate road at the Havelian Ayub Bridge site is progressing at a fast pace to ensure uninterrupted traffic during the bridge’s reconstruction, which is being carried out with a Rs1 billion grant approved by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
 Former Federal Minister and General Secretary of Pakistan Muslim League (N), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murtaza Javed Abbasi, visited the project site to review the pace of work.
The alternate route is being developed to facilitate traffic while reconstruction of the Havelian Ayub Bridge continues. The bridge was damaged during last year’s monsoon rains, disrupting transportation in the area.
According to details, Murtaza Javed Abbasi secured the special grant from the Prime Minister for the reconstruction of the bridge.
Speaking during the visit, Abbasi said public service would remain his foremost priority. He directed that the alternate road must remain fully operational until the reconstruction of the Ayub Bridge is completed, adding that it is the responsibility of the contractor concerned to ensure the road is properly maintained for uninterrupted traffic flow.
Officials of the National Highway Authority (NHA) accompanied the former federal minister during the visit. Several local leaders and community representatives, including Khalid Parvez Awan, President of All Trade Khokhar Maira Nasir Swati, trader leader Naseer Ahmed Abbasi of Havelian, Abu Bakar Mustafa Abbasi, Khawaja Fasih-ur-Rehman, Zarnish Khan Langra, Mufti Adil, Sajid Awan, and other local elders, were also present.
