RPO Dera holds special Darbar for lady constables, announces women & child protection desks

Dera Ismail Khan, May 16 (APP): Regional Police Officer (RPO) Dera Range Ghulam Mubashir Meikan on Saturday chaired a special “Darbar” at the Police Club Dera Ismail Khan exclusively for lady constables, focusing on their field challenges, welfare, and professional support.

Lady police personnel from across Dera Ismail Khan district attended the session and shared their concerns regarding duty-related difficulties, working conditions, and welfare issues.

Addressing the participants, the RPO praised the services of female police officials, saying they are performing their duties with courage, dedication, and commitment in challenging environments. He emphasized that protecting vulnerable and oppressed women and ensuring justice for them is a core responsibility of police women in the field.

He stated that even a single sincere step taken to support a victimized woman could change a life and strengthen public trust in law enforcement.

The RPO also announced key institutional reforms for women and child protection, saying that Gender-Based Women and Child Desks are being established across all four districts of the Dera Range. These desks will operate in district police offices and police facilitation centers to improve access to justice and support services for women and children.

He directed lady officers deployed at these desks to guide complainants with empathy, professionalism, and confidence while ensuring effective assistance to victims.

Reaffirming the department’s commitment, he said the welfare and safety of female police personnel remain a top priority of the police administration.

During the interactive session, lady constables briefed the RPO about multiple operational and welfare-related challenges they face in the field.

The RPO listened to their concerns attentively and issued on-the-spot instructions for immediate resolution of legitimate grievances.

The session concluded with assurances of improved facilitation mechanisms and stronger institutional support for women in policing across the region.
