MALAKAND, Jul 01 (APP): The district emergency services, Rescue 1122 Malakand responded to 418 emergencies across the district during June and rescued 360 affected persons, according to the monthly performance report released by Control Room In-charge Faiz Khan.
The report stated that operations were carried out under the supervision of District Emergency Officer Nasir Khan from June 1 to June 30.
Emergency responses included 274 medical cases, 60 road traffic accidents, 49 fire incidents, 13 firing and violence-related cases, four drowning incidents, one explosion caused by a cooker blast, and 17 recovery operations. A total of 13 people lost their lives in various incidents during the month.
Under the referral emergency service, Rescue 1122 handled 155 referral cases, shifting 54 patients within the district and 101 patients to hospitals outside the district.
During the reporting period, the Rescue 1122 control room received 10,657 calls, including 3,186 information-related calls and 7,053 fake or irrelevant calls.
Meanwhile, the training wing of Rescue 1122 Malakand conducted awareness and training sessions in public and private schools, colleges and institutions on first aid, CPR, fire safety and emergency preparedness.
Rescue 1122 urged citizens to contact the emergency helpline only in cases of genuine emergencies.
