MALAKAND, Aug 05 (APP):Rescue 1122 Malakand has deployed emergency response teams at vulnerable points along the Swat River to tackle any flood-related incidents during the ongoing monsoon season.
Acting on the directives of District Emergency Officer Nasir Khan, Rescue 1122 personnel, along with local volunteers, have been stationed at sensitive locations in view of recent heavy rains and the possibility of flooding.
The rescue teams have been equipped with boats, life jackets and other essential water rescue equipment and remain on high alert to respond promptly to any emergency.
Rescue 1122 urged the public to avoid unnecessary entry into rivers, canals, streams and floodwaters, observe all safety precautions and immediately dial the 1122 emergency helpline in case of any emergency.
Meanwhile, Rescue 1122 Malakand safely recovered a car that plunged into a ravine near Taroon Marriage Hall in Batkhela late Tuesday night, officials said.
Upon receiving the emergency call, a Rescue 1122 recovery team rushed to the scene and successfully retrieved the vehicle using professional recovery techniques.
Officials confirmed that no casualties or injuries were reported in the incident. After the recovery operation, the vehicle was handed over to its owner.
