PTI Govt lacks will to solve public issues: Atta Tarar
PESHAWAR, Sep 22 (APP):Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Tuesday said that PTI Government lacks will rather resources to address its people’s problems.
Accompanied by Prime Minister’s Coordinator Ikhtiar Wali Khan and former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, the federal minister visited the residence of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Haji Shah Jee Gul Afridi in Hayatabad, Peshawar.
They offered condolences to the family over the death of Haji Jannat Sher Afridi, elder brother of the late former senator Taj Muhammad Afridi and former MPA Shafiq Sher Afridi. He also participated in the Fateha prayer.
Speaking to the media afterward, Attaullah Tarar said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa does not suffer from a shortage of resources but from a lack of political will.
He claimed that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has more funds available than Punjab, but that the money is not being spent on the people of the province.
Referring to the protest march of PTI, Attaullah Tarar said the Islamabad High Court had already issued a decision on the matter, adding that a single day of protest or sit-in was causing losses of Rs120 billion that no country can afford.
The minister said the federal government had never backed away from cooperation and wanted to work with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Govt in every sector.
However, he said, the PTI government had maintained that it did not require such assistance and had never reciprocated positively .
Attaullah Tarar further said that maintaining law and order was not the sole responsibility of the federal government and urged the provincial government to demonstrate seriousness in dealing with the important issue.
He said recent Kohat attack could have been averted if PTI Govt equipped its counter terrorism department, focus on capacity building of police and setup a forensic lab at Peshawar.
