Police safety, welfare among top priorities: RPO
DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Sep 11 (APP):Regional Police Officer (RPO) Ghulam Mubashir Mekan has said the safety and welfare of police personnel were among his top priorities, urging them to remain brave and united against anti-social elements.
He was addressing a police darbar held here at Ijaz Shaheed Police Lines. RPO was given a guard of honour and later visited the police martyrs’ memorial, where he offered Fateha.
District Police Officer (DPO) Ziauddin Ahmed, senior police officers and personnel attended the gathering.
The RPO said constables were the “real heroes” of the police force and directed senior officers to treat their subordinates with respect and care.
He said weekly orderly rooms were being held at the RPO and DPO offices to address personnel’s problems. Several personnel presented their issues at the darbar, and the RPO issued on-the-spot orders for their resolution.
He urged police personnel to remain courageous, support their colleagues and perform their duties with dedication. He said there would be no compromise on corruption or mistreatment of citizens, adding that providing justice and treating people with respect were basic responsibilities of the police.
