The police arrested four suspects in separate operations targeting illegal weapons possession and drug trafficking as part of an intensified campaign against crime, the official source said on Thursday.

KOHAT, Jul 2 (APP): The police arrested four suspects in separate operations targeting illegal weapons possession and drug trafficking as part of an intensified campaign against crime, the official source said on Thursday.
In the first operation, the Cantonment police arrested two men, identified as Shahid and Shamoon, during a routine patrol.
The police said they recovered a Kalashnikov rifle and ammunition from Shahid.
A search of Shamoon allegedly led to the seizure of a pistol, a Kalashnikov rifle and another firearm, they added.
The suspects were taken into custody, and cases had been registered against them, the police said, adding investigations were underway.
In a separate operation, the police team intercepted a vehicle at the Muslim Abad checkpoint and recovered  hashish 7kgz, the sources said.
The two occupants of the vehicle, identified as Idris and Farman, were arrested.
The narcotics were being transported from Peshawar to Bannu, the police said.
A case has been registered at Jarma Police Station, and further investigations were under way, they added.
District Police Officer (DPO) Shahbaz Elahi said that operations against criminal groups and drug traffickers would continue to strengthen public safety and maintain law and order across the district.
