PMC honours faculty members on earning PhD degrees

Peshawar Medical College (PMC) organized a prestigious ceremony to honour its faculty members who recently earned PhD degrees in Basic Medical Sciences and Dental Sciences. 

PESHAWAR, Jun 29 (APP): Peshawar Medical College (PMC) organized a prestigious ceremony to honour its faculty members who recently earned PhD degrees in Basic Medical Sciences and Dental Sciences.
The event celebrated the academic achievements of more than a dozen scholars who successfully completed their doctoral studies from Khyber Medical University (KMU), Peshawar, and Riphah International University, Islamabad.
With this remarkable accomplishment, Peshawar Medical College and Peshawar Dental College have become the only institutions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with PhD-qualified faculty members across all Basic Medical Sciences disciplines, marking a significant milestone in medical and dental education in the province.
The ceremony was attended by Patron-in-Chief of Prime Foundation, Prof. Dr. Najeeb ul Haq; Director of Riphah International University, Peshawar Campus, Prof. Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Swati; Director Academics, Khyber Medical University, Prof. Dr. Zill-e-Huma; Prof. Dr. Umar Malik; Dean, Peshawar Medical College, Prof. Dr. Hafeez ur Rahman; and the heads of various Basic Medical Sciences departments of Peshawar Medical and Dental Colleges.
Welcoming the guests, Prof. Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Swati described the successful completion of PhD degrees by more than a dozen faculty members as a landmark achievement for the institution. He stated that this accomplishment reflects the institution’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence, research advancement, and continuous professional development of its faculty.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Zill-e-Huma and Prof. Dr. Umar Malik commended the scholars for their dedication, perseverance, and academic excellence.
They also acknowledged the institution’s strong support in enabling faculty members to pursue and successfully complete their doctoral education. Prof. Dr. Zill-e-Huma reaffirmed Khyber Medical University’s commitment to continuing its support for faculty development and higher education initiatives in medical and dental colleges across the province.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Dr. Najeeb ul Haq congratulated the newly graduated PhD scholars and emphasized that higher education, particularly postgraduate education, is fundamental to strengthening institutional capacity and enhancing the quality of medical education.
He highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration, securing competitive research grants, and expanding academic and research partnerships with national and international institutions to promote innovation and excellence.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of commemorative shields and souvenirs to the PhD graduates and their academic supervisors in recognition of their outstanding scholarly contributions.
