PESHAWAR, Jun 15 (APP): The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Monday directed the relevant authorities to resolve identity document-related issues faced by renowned singer Nazia Iqbal and her family.
During the hearing on Monday, the petitioner’s counsel, Advocate Saifullah Mohib Kakakhel informed the court that Nazia Iqbal and her children have been facing difficulties in the renewal of their national identity cards and other official documents. These issues have caused problems in their daily affairs and international travel.
The court was told that if the identity documents were not renewed in time, Nazia Iqbal and her family might be compelled to enter Pakistan on British passports and obtain visas, which could create further complications.
After hearing the case, the court instructed the authorities concerned to provide all legal facilities to the petitioner and ensured that the documentation issues were resolved at the earliest.
The court further directed the appellants to appear before the Verification Board within six months to fulfill all legal requirements regarding status verification and documentation. The court also advised applying for a Pakistan Origin Card (POC) in accordance with the law.
