PESCO expands loadshedding-free network with addition of nine more feeders

Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) has declared nine additional feeders as loadshedding-free as part of ongoing efforts to improve uninterrupted electricity supply across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

PESHAWAR, Jun 15 (APP):Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) has declared nine additional feeders as loadshedding-free as part of ongoing efforts to improve uninterrupted electricity supply across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to PESCO Chief Akhtar Hameed Khan, the initiative is being implemented under the directives of the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the Federal Minister for Energy to gradually eliminate loadshedding on improved-performing feeders.
He said PESCO has made 27 feeders loadshedding-free during the last three months through operational measures aimed at reducing line losses and improving recovery.
Among the newly upgraded feeders, loadshedding has been ended on the People Mandi feeder in Peshawar Circle and the Karkhano feeder in Khyber Circle. In Mardan Circle, the Gaju Khan feeder will now receive uninterrupted 24-hour electricity supply.
In Swat Circle, the Naway Kali, Sheikhan, Asban, PIDC and Shahi Khel feeders have also been declared loadshedding-free. Additionally, the Baja Express feeder in Swabi has been included in the uninterrupted supply network, according to the PESCO spokesperson.
PESCO officials stated that targeted operations and loss-reduction measures on these feeders helped achieve the improved supply status.
The company added that operations are continuing on additional feeders and more areas are expected to be made loadshedding-free in the coming period.
