PESHAWAR, Jun 22 (APP):Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Minister for Hajj, Religious, Minority Affairs and Auqaf, Muhammad Adnan Qadri on Monday said that the friendship between Pakistan and China was undoubtedly everlasting, strong and time-tested.
He said relations between the two countries were not limited merely to government or diplomatic levels, but were also continuously strengthening through public, cultural, educational and economic ties.
He expressed these views during his visit to China Window, the Chinese cultural centre established in Peshawar.
Provincial Minister visited different galleries and showed keen interest in them. The provincial minister also signed the Friendship Wall and recorded his impressions in the visitors’ book.
Speaking to the media on the occasion, Muhammad Adnan Qadri proposed that a delegation comprising prominent religious scholars, ulema and representatives of religious seminaries from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa should be sent to China’s Xinjiang region so that they could personally observe the life of Muslims there, including their worship, mosques, religious freedom, educational and social development, and facilities provided by the government.
Muhammad Adnan Qadri said the people of Pakistan, particularly those of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, consider China a trusted friend.
China has always stood by Pakistan in difficult times, while Pakistan has also always respected and valued its friendship with China. He said Pakistan-China friendship is based on mutual respect, trust, cooperation and shared development, which was why this friendship is regarded across the world as an exemplary relationship.
The provincial minister said that creating accurate awareness about China was the need of the hour. He said certain international powers were not pleased with the growing relations between Pakistan and China, CPEC, and the strengthening of people-to-people contacts, and therefore try to create misunderstandings in different ways.
However, the best response to such negative propaganda is that Pakistani intellectuals, journalists, religious scholars, students and youth should visit China, see the conditions with their own eyes and form opinions based on facts.
Adnan Qadri appreciated the services of China Window, the Chinese cultural centre established in Peshawar, and said that China Window was an effective, active and valuable institution for promoting Pakistan-China friendship in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He said China Window was not only creating awareness among the people about Chinese culture, history, development and CPEC, but was also playing an important role in strengthening public contacts between the two countries.
He said various galleries of China Window, its free Chinese language courses, cultural events, seminars, exhibitions and educational programmes were providing the younger generation with positive and authentic information about China.
Through this centre, the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were gaining awareness about China’s development, culture, civilisation, traditions, technology, educational opportunities and the importance of CPEC, which is highly important for promoting people-to-people relations between the two countries.
Muhammad Adnan Qadri exchange of delegations between the two countries would enable people  to understand each other in a better way and would further strengthen the atmosphere of mutual respect and cooperation.
He said China’s achievements in poverty alleviation, development, education, technology and infrastructure are an example for the world.
Pakistan, particularly the youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, need to learn from China’s experiences. He said CPEC was an
extremely important project for Pakistan’s economic future, and creating positive public awareness about this project is a national need.
Provincial Minister Muhammad Adnan Qadri expressed the resolve that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government would support every positive effort aimed at promoting Pakistan-China friendship, interfaith harmony, cultural contacts and confidence-building at the public level.
He said relations between Pakistan and China would further strengthen in the coming years, and the friendship between the two countries would continue to play an important role in peace, development and prosperity in the region.
