Pak-China friendship can further strengthened through student exchanges: UoP VC
PESHAWAR, Sep 18 (APP):University of Peshawar Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Johar Ali visited China Window Peshawar and described it as an outstanding centre for promoting Pak-China friendship, cultural understanding and people-to-people contacts between the two countries.
During his visit, the Vice Chancellor toured the various galleries of China Window and took a keen interest in the exhibits showcasing China’s history, culture, traditions, development and its longstanding friendship with Pakistan.
He also received briefings about the different displays and appreciated the efforts being made by China Window to promote friendship and understanding between the peoples of Pakistan and China.
Talking to the media, Professor Dr. Johar Ali said that Pakistan-China friendship was based on decades of close and trusted relations, and institutions such as China Window were playing an important role in bringing the people of the two countries, particularly young people and students, closer together.
He said the way China Window was presenting China’s history, culture and remarkable development was highly commendable. He encouraged students from across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to visit China Window to learn more about China, its culture and Pakistan-China relations.
The Vice Chancellor said China had made remarkable progress in education, science, technology and research, while Pakistani students had considerable opportunities to pursue higher education in Chinese universities.
He urged students from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to benefit from these opportunities and explore avenues for higher education, research and academic cooperation with Chinese universities.
Professor Dr. Johar Ali also proposed signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between China Window and the China Study Centre of the University of Peshawar to further strengthen academic, cultural and research cooperation.
He said Pak-China friendship was not limited to government-to-government relations but was also strengthened through people-to-people contacts and cooperation among universities, students, teachers and young people.
He added that China Window was providing a valuable platform for promoting this people-to-people friendship and creating greater awareness about China among the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
