Over 8,500 security personnel deployed for Muharram in DI Khan

According to a police spokesman, District Police Officer (DPO) Dera Ismail Khan, Ziauddin Ahmad, is personally supervising the implementation of the security plan, which has been devised on an emergency basis to guarantee the peaceful observance of Muharram.
The police said that personnel from the district police, Elite Force, Frontier Reserve Police (FRP) and Frontier Corps (FC) have been deployed to provide security at mourning processions, Imambargahs and mosques across the district.
As part of the security strategy, the district has been divided into five zones and nine sectors. An officer of Superintendent of Police (SP) rank has been assigned to each zone, while Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) rank officers have been posted in every sector to oversee security arrangements and ensure effective coordination.
Special checkpoints have been established at key locations, including entry and exit points of the city as well as along procession routes. Police mobile patrol units will continue round-the-clock patrolling on major roads and sensitive areas to maintain vigilance.
The police have also strengthened rooftop security by deploying personnel at important buildings and along procession routes to monitor activities and respond promptly to any untoward incident.
Speaking on the occasion, DPO Ziauddin Ahmad said that the police were taking all possible measures to ensure the peaceful conduct of Muharram-ul-Haram. He urged religious scholars, community elders and organisers to strictly adhere to the agreed code of conduct and remain in close coordination with the district administration.
He also appealed to the general public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies in maintaining peace and harmony during the holy month.
The district police reiterated their commitment to ensuring foolproof security and a peaceful environment for all Muharram-related activities across Dera Ismail Khan.
