Opposition members protest in KP assembly, interrupt CM’s budget speech
PESHAWAR, Jun 19 (APP):Opposition members staged a protest in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Friday during the budget session, gathering in front of the Speaker’s dais and interrupting the budget speech of the Chief Minister by raising slogans against the provincial budget.
The protesting lawmakers chanted “Budget Na-Manzoor” (Budget Rejected) and voiced criticism of the government’s financial proposals during the assembly proceedings.
The protest caused disruption in the House as opposition members continued their demonstration while carry placards in their hands.
Despite the protest and slogan chanting, the assembly proceedings continued and the Chief Minister Sohail Afridi proceeded with his speech.
The opposition maintained that it opposed the budget measures presented by the government and registered its protest inside the House.
