SWAT, Aug 04 (APP):Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Engineer Amir Muqam on Tuesday visited the Police Martyrs’ Memorial at Police Line here to pay tribute to police personnel who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty on the occasion of Police Martyrs’ Day.
The federal minister laid a floral wreath at the memorial and offered Fateha for the departed souls.
District Police Officer (DPO) Swat and other senior police officials were present on the occasion.
The DPO briefed the minister on the overall law and order situation in Swat district and the professional responsibilities being carried out by the police force.
Speaking on the occasion, Amir Muqam praised the sacrifices and dedication of the police force, saying their unwavering commitment to safeguarding the country and maintaining peace would always be remembered.
He said the services and sacrifices of police martyrs were invaluable and had played a vital role in ensuring stability and security.
The minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the families of police martyrs and enhancing the operational capacity and welfare of the police force.
Former provincial minister Wajid Ali Khan, former provincial minister and former district nazim Muhammad Ali Shah Khan, PML-N Swat District President Qavi Khan, Mingora City President Haji Imran Khan, Secretary General Noor Khan, Prime Minister’s Youth Coordinator Syed Sadiq Aziz Bacha, former MPA Fazalullah Khan, and other party office-bearers also attended the ceremony.
