DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Jun 26 (APP):Member of the National Assembly Faisal Amin Khan Gandapur, along with Commissioner Muhammad Dawood Khan, Regional Police Officer (RPO) Dera Ghulam Mubashir Mekan, and senior security officials, jointly visited the Police Command and Control Centre late Thursday night to review security arrangements for the central and traditional processions of the 10th of Muharram.
During the visit, the officials closely monitored the movement of Ashura night processions across the city and reviewed the overall law and order situation to ensure foolproof security.
RPO Ghulam Mubashir Mekan briefed the delegation on the Command and Control Centre’s state-of-the-art CCTV surveillance network, digital monitoring system for procession routes, and the comprehensive security plan. He said additional surveillance cameras had been installed at sensitive locations, while the control room was operating round the clock to maintain continuous monitoring of all activities.
The delegation also met personnel of the Quick Response Force (QRF), Rapid Response Force, Al-Barq units, and focal persons from other relevant departments deployed at the control centre. They reviewed the preparedness of emergency response teams to ensure a swift and effective response to any untoward incident.
Speaking on the occasion, the senior officials said the protection of citizens’ lives and property and the peaceful observance of Muharram remained the administration’s top priority. They added that all security agencies and the district administration were working in close coordination to maintain law and order and effectively deal with any emergency situation.
