Meeting discuss construction of new graveyard in Hayatabad

PESHAWAR, Mar 13 (APP): Commissioner Peshawar Division Riaz Khan Mehsud here on Friday, chaired a meeting regarding the construction of a new graveyard for the residents of Hayatabad.

During his recent visit to Hayatabad, he was informed by residents that the existing graveyard allocated for the area has run out of space, and people are forced to take their deceased to graveyards in distant areas for burial.

They demanded an immediate solution to this issue and allocation of land for the purpose.

Taking notice of the situation, the commissioner convened a meeting that was attended by the Director Land Peshawar Development Authority (PDA), Assistant Commissioner Matni, Tehsildar Matni and other revenue officials.

Addressing the meeting, the commissioner directed the district administration, PDA and revenue authorities to identify suitable land for the establishment of a graveyard for Hayatabad residents in the nearby areas of Achini Bala and Sango.

He instructed the concerned departments to complete all legal and administrative requirements and submit a report within one week.

He directed that after the identification of the land, PDA should ensure the construction of a boundary wall around the graveyard and provide other necessary facilities.

He emphasized that resolving public issues promptly is the government’s top priority and that all available resources would be utilized to provide basic facilities to citizens.
