KOHAT, May 15 (APP):The long-pending issue concerning the Nursing Department of Kohat University of Science and Technology has been resolved after the approval of a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for 150 seats following efforts by the nursing community and intervention by Jamila Paracha.
Official sources said the approval was widely welcomed by students, parents and faculty members, who had been raising concerns over delays affecting academic activities and future professional opportunities for nursing students. The matter had remained unresolved for several months despite repeated appeals by students and departmental representatives.
Jamila Paracha, who is also a member of the Provincial Health Committee, reportedly raised the issue during a Human Resource Management meeting held on May 7 and later highlighted the concerns again at the Health Committee forum. Officials said her efforts at both provincial and federal levels played a key role in securing the long-awaited approval.
Sources added that the federal government also extended support in facilitating the process. Students and teachers termed the approval a “historic achievement,” saying it would strengthen nursing education in southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and create greater opportunities for aspiring healthcare professionals in the region.
