KP to launch summer learning, grooming festival for public school students

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Elementary and Secondary Education Department has decided to launch a Summer Learning and Grooming Festival for students of government schools to provide educational, developmental and recreational opportunities during the summer vacation period.

PESHAWAR, Jun 30 (APP): The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Elementary and Secondary Education Department has decided to launch a Summer Learning and Grooming Festival for students of government schools to provide educational, developmental and recreational opportunities during the summer vacation period.
Under the first phase of the initiative, around 2,000 students from grades six to twelve belonging to 19 districts across the province will participate. Residential summer camps will be organised in Swat, Mansehra and Abbottabad.
Preparations for the programme were reviewed during a meeting chaired by Provincial Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education Arshad Ayub Khan. The meeting was attended by senior education officials, divisional commissioners, chairpersons of education boards and district education officers.
Addressing the meeting, Arshad Ayub Khan said the festival would serve as an important initiative for the overall personality development of students.
He said participants would be provided opportunities beyond academics, including leadership development, teamwork, sports, creative engagement and healthy recreational activities.
He noted that many talented students, particularly from southern and newly merged districts, often have limited access to such exposure and learning opportunities.
The programme, he said, would encourage interaction among students from different districts, promote exchange of experiences and strengthen social harmony.
The minister directed relevant authorities to ensure high standards of accommodation, food, security, healthcare and overall camp arrangements so students could benefit from a safe and comfortable learning environment.
The Summer Learning and Grooming Festival will also feature sports, cultural events, creative exercises, leadership-building sessions, adventure activities and recreational programmes aimed at improving students’ mental, physical and social development.
