PESHAWAR, Sep 22 (APP):Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Aftab Alam on Monday directed officials to ensure timely completion of a 5-kilometre-diameter gas pipeline project of Kohat district, saying delays must not affect gas supplies to local residents.
He issued the directive while chairing a meeting at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Kohat to review progress on the project.
Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nawaz Wazir, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Finance) Amir Ali Shah, former Gumbat chairman Sajid Iqbal and officials of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited attended the meeting.
Officials briefed the participants on the progress of the pipeline project and ongoing construction work.
The minister directed the relevant departments to maintain the pace of construction and ensure regular monitoring so that the project could be completed within the stipulated timeframe.
Aftab Alam also sought clarification from gas department officials over claims circulating on social media that the project had been approved through specific political figures or families. The officials clarified that the project had not been approved by any particular political personality or family, but by the current political leadership.
The meeting stressed close coordination among the departments concerned to prevent unnecessary delays and ensure timely completion of development projects.
