KP information minister pays surprise visit to DHQ Kohat, reviews healthcare services for patients

PESHAWAR, Jul 03 (APP): Information Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shafi Jan paid a surprise visit to the district headquarters hospital in Kohat, where he reviewed healthcare services to patients.
The minister reviewed the medical facilities and overall arrangements being provided to patients at the hospital.
During the visit, he met with patients and their attendants and sought feedback about the healthcare services they were receiving, says a press release.
On the occasion, Shafi Jan said that timely and quality medical treatment for patients must be ensured under all circumstances.
He stressed that any negligence or shortcomings in providing healthcare services to the public would not be tolerated.
He said that providing quality healthcare facilities in hospitals is one of the provincial government’s highest priorities, and that the health sector remains among its top areas of focus.
The minister added that for the current financial year, the provincial health budget has been increased from Rs. 275 billion to Rs. 334 billion.
He also announced that Rs. 50 billion has been allocated under the Universal Health Coverage program to provide free medical treatment to the public.
