Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Sohail Afridi, on Tuesday said that a comprehensive contingency plan has been finalized in view of the upcoming monsoon rains.

PESHAWAR, Apr 07 (APP):Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Sohail Afridi, on Tuesday said that a comprehensive contingency plan has been finalized in view of the upcoming monsoon rains.
He said that all relevant departments have been put on alert and implementation of the plan is already underway.
In a statement, he said that preparations for the expected spell of rains from April 6 to 9 and beyond had been underway since January to ensure a timely response to any emergency situation.
The CM further stated that while the intensity of natural disasters cannot be predicted in advance, the government is making all-out efforts to ensure maximum public safety and has completed all arrangements for immediate relief in case of any adverse situation.
He added that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is the only province that has not only finalized its contingency plan in a timely manner but has also initiated its implementation.
