PESHAWAR, Aug 09 (APP): The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Sunday dismissed as fake a notification circulating on social media regarding the inclusion of Ghazi tehsil in the federal territory.
KP Government Spokesperson Shafi Jan said that baseless propaganda was being circulated about changing the status of Ghazi tehsil.
He clarified that the geographical status of any area of a province could not be altered through a mere notification, as such a change required a constitutional amendment.
Shafi Jan said the protection of the mandate given by the people was the government’s constitutional and democratic responsibility.
He stressed that no conspiracy against the people’s mandate or the geographical integrity of the province would be allowed to succeed.
He further warned that action would be taken against those involved in circulating the fake notification or fabricated news.
