PESHAWAR, Mar 12 (APP):The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to revive the defunct Model Schools and Institutes across the province to restore their past glory and improve the quality of education.
The decision was taken during a meeting of the Primary and Secondary Education Department chaired by Chief Minister Mohammad Sohail Afridi in Peshawar on Thursday. The meeting focused on a comprehensive strategy to upgrade the educational standards in the province.
Presiding over the meeting , the Chief Minister directed the authorities to formulate a comprehensive plan for the revival of these institutions. To this end, a working group has been constituted under the stewardship of the Provincial Minister for Primary and Secondary Education.
The group has been tasked with reviewing the current issues plaguing the model institutions, including faculty shortages, human resources, and infrastructure deficiencies, and subsequently submit a detailed report.
Chief Minister emphasized that the government was committed to restoring the past prestige of the model institutes and transforming them into exemplary educational hubs. “Reforms aligned with modern requirements will be introduced in these institutes,” he stated, adding that the provincial government is undertaking practical measures to elevate the standard of education.
The Chief Minister also issued directives for the establishment of new Model Schools and Institutes in Haripur and Khyber districts.
He assured that the provincial government would provide all necessary resources on a priority basis to strengthen the educational institutions and ensure the success of the revival project.
