KP government confers `Youth Excellence Award’ on youngster from Haripur

PESHAWAR, Aug 13 (APP): Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has conferred the `Youth Excellence Award’ on Hassan Nisar of Haripur for his work with young people and efforts to promote education, skills development and opportunities for youth in the province.

Born in Khanpur, Haripur, Hassan Nisar has been involved in youth and education-related initiatives in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. His work has focused on providing young people with access to learning, technology, skills training and opportunities, particularly in areas where such facilities remain limited.

The award was presented by Taj Muhammad Tarand, Adviser to the Chief Minister on Sports and Youth Affairs, at a ceremony held at Sahibzada Abdul Qayum Hall, University of Peshawar, on the occasion of International Youth Day.

The event was organised by the Directorate of Youth Affairs, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Muhammad Asif, Director Youth Affairs Abbas Khan Afridi, Deputy Director Youth Affairs Atifa Yousafzai, government officials, students, young people and entrepreneurs attended the ceremony.

Hassan Nisar is the founder of Metrix Pakistan, a youth-focused organisation established in 2022.

The organisation has carried out much of its work in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly in underprivileged and underserved areas where young people have limited access to education, training, technology, educational resources and professional opportunities.

Through Metrix Pakistan, Hassan Nisar has educated thousands of individuals through workshops, training programmes and educational activities.

The programmes have covered digital marketing, blockchain, artificial intelligence, entrepreneurship and other areas of technology, providing young people with practical knowledge and skills.

The organisation has also taken its programmes to communities outside major urban centres, involving students and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and areas with fewer opportunities for education, skills development and professional exposure.

Hassan Nisar has also worked to promote education among young people and encourage them to pursue skills and learning in emerging fields. His activities have involved students, young entrepreneurs and youth from communities with limited access to such opportunities.

Speaking at the ceremony, Taj Muhammad Tarand appreciated Hassan Nisar’s work with young people and said that such initiatives were contributing to the development and promotion of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Muhammad Asif and Abbas Khan Afridi also appreciated his contribution to youth-related activities and his efforts to engage young people through educational and skills-based programmes.

Hassan Nisar said the award recognised the work being carried out through Metrix Pakistan and expressed his intention to continue working with young people, particularly those from underserved communities, in the areas of education, technology, skills development and entrepreneurship.
