KP FS&HFA seizes substandard juice, minced meat

PESHAWAR, Apr 06 (APP): Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority has intensified its operations across the province to ensure the provision of safe and quality food.
According to spokesperson for the authority, a food safety team in Mardan conducted a raid on a juice production unit and recovered more than 200 cartons of substandard juice.
During the operation, low-quality packaging material used in the preparation of the juice was also confiscated. Officials stated that the harmful products were intended for supply to various urban areas.
The unit was sealed for violating food safety regulations, while a heavy fine was imposed on the owner and further legal proceedings have been initiated.
Meanwhile, in Swat, the food authority, in collaboration with the district administration, carried out a raid on a kabab shop and recovered unhygienic minced meat. The shop was subsequently sealed, and legal action has been initiated.
Director General Food Authority, Kashif Iqbal Jilani, lauded the successful operations of the food safety teams and reiterated that indiscriminate action against those endangering public health would continue.
He emphasized that the authority is committed to ensuring the availability of safe and quality food across the province.
