Deputy Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Suraya Bibi on Monday chaired a review meeting and discussed ongoing and new development projects of Annual Development Program (ADP) for Upper Chitral district for the financial year 2026-27.
KP DS reviews upper Chitral development projects; directs timely completion
PESHAWAR, Jun 29 (APP): Deputy Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Suraya Bibi on Monday chaired a review meeting and discussed ongoing and new development projects of Annual Development Program (ADP) for Upper Chitral district for the financial year 2026-27.
The meeting was attended by key administrative figures, including Deputy Commissioner Upper Chitral Imran Yousafzai, District Police Officer Hamidullah Khan, Divisional Forest Officer Rizwanullah, XEN Public Health Atta-ur-Rehman, District Sports Officer Shahnaz Bibi, and ETO Obaid-ur-Rehman.
Officials from various departments including Livestock, Primary and Secondary Education, Excise, Police, Rescue 1122, Minerals, Fisheries, Wildlife, Forests, Irrigation, Sports, Drinking Water, and District Administration provided detailed briefings on ongoing and proposed development initiatives under their respective previews.
During the meeting, Deputy Speaker Suraya Bibi issued several direct instructions to accelerate public safety and local economic growth.
She directed Rescue 1122 to expedite establishment of diving team centers in river areas of Jonali Koch, Rishon, and Brip, emphasizing that local residents should be recruited on a priority basis to provide decent employment opportunities for area’s youth.
Additionally, she expressed strong concern over slow pace of multiple regional initiatives, specifically highlighting construction of Zani Pass Jeepable Bridge under Tourism Department, establishment of a mineral laboratory in Upper Chitral, construction of polo and other sports grounds, under construction school projects, and establishment of youth centers.
To address these delays, she assigned a special task to Deputy Commissioner Upper Chitral to collaborate with all relevant departments and ensure swift completion of these pending projects.
She also directed relevant authorities to immediately procure suitable buildings for excise officials. Furthermore, instructions were issued to quickly finalize necessary paperwork for construction and repair of police check posts in border areas, boundary wall of police line, and DPO office, as well as construction of police stations in Mastuj and Avir.
