KP CM calls for unity, religious harmony in Ashura message; urges scholars to promote sectarian tolerance
PESHAWAR, Jun 25 (APP):Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Chief Minister, Muhammad Sohail Afridi Thursday stated that historic event of Karbala represents a definitive battle between truth and falsehood.
In his message for Ashura, he said that eternal sacrifice made by Hazrat Imam Hussain, grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), was an unmatched act to uphold glory of Islam that will be remembered forever.
KP CM highlighted that tragedy of Karbala serves as a powerful reminder of cruelty of unjust rulers and holds deep lessons for all of humanity.
He described Hazrat Imam Hussain as a champion of honesty who stood firmly against oppression and tyrannical policies.
Afridi said that by embodying this same spirit of patience and steadfastness, Muslims today can overcome systemic exploitation, counter injustice, and work toward a more peaceful and stable society instead of becoming divided by internal disagreements.
To ensure safety during these holy days, KP CM stressed that law, order, and religious harmony must be strictly maintained throughout the province.
He concluded with an appeal to both general public and Islamic scholars from all schools of thought to play a responsible, positive role in promoting peace, tolerance, and mutual respect among different communities.
