Kohat Police net wanted murder suspects, seize illegal weapons in targeted crackdown

Kohat Police on Thursday intensified their campaign against criminal elements and proclaimed offenders, arresting multiple wanted suspects and recovering a cache of illegal weapons and ammunition during separate operations carried out across the district. The actions were conducted under the directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Dr. Shahbaz Elahi as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen law enforcement and public safety.

KOHAT, Jun 11 (APP): Kohat Police on Thursday intensified their campaign against criminal elements and proclaimed offenders, arresting multiple wanted suspects and recovering a cache of illegal weapons and ammunition during separate operations carried out across the district. The actions were conducted under the directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Dr. Shahbaz Elahi as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen law enforcement and public safety.
According to police officials, a team led by SHO Abdul Rauf Bangash of MRS Police Station apprehended proclaimed offender Muhammad Javed, son of Mastan Khan, during a checkpoint operation. The suspect, a resident of Shakardara, was wanted in a murder and attempted murder case registered under FIR No. 234 dated April 17, 2026, at Shakardara Police Station under various provisions of the Pakistan Penal Code. He was taken into custody and handed over for further legal proceedings.
In another successful operation, police arrested Amir Sohail, son of Hussain Badshah, also a resident of Shakardara. A search of the accused led to the recovery of two 30-bore pistols, six Kalashnikov magazines, 130 rounds of 30-bore ammunition, 40 Kalashnikov cartridges, and a binocular. The seized weapons and ammunition were taken into possession, while a separate criminal case was registered against the suspect.
Meanwhile, a team from Jerma Police Station, headed by SHO Iqbal Khan, arrested proclaimed offender Azmat Ali, who had been absconding in a murder case linked to the killing of Wajid Khan in December 2022. Acting on intelligence-based information, police conducted a targeted raid and successfully apprehended the suspect. DPO Dr. Shahbaz Elahi said operations against criminals and proclaimed offenders would continue relentlessly and without discrimination, reaffirming the police department’s commitment to protecting the lives and property of citizens and maintaining law and order across the district.
