Chairman of the Board of Governors, Noorul Iman, emphasized the importance of meaningful and well-organized research in transforming clinical practice.
He encouraged faculty members and students to actively participate in innovative research projects to address healthcare challenges and improve medical outcomes.
Dean and CEO of KGMC, Shehzad Akbar, said that training in research proposal development, budget planning, and research management forms part of the institution’s long-term strategy to prepare future healthcare professionals with strong research skills.
Director of the Department of Research and Clinical Audit at MTI Hayatabad Medical Complex and KGMC, Dr. Almas Fasih Khattak, said the department aims to foster a structured research environment that supports academic growth and quality patient care.
“Our goal is to promote a research culture that strengthens academic excellence and improves patient care. Through collaborations and innovative projects, we aim to position KGMC as a center of research leadership in the region,” he said.
The newly established department will oversee seasonal research programs, a Clinical Trial Unit, annual research conferences, and national and international collaborations.
The initiative is expected to contribute significantly to raising academic standards and advancing healthcare services.
The establishment of the department reflects the commitment of KGMC leadership, including Dean Shehzad Akbar, Associate Dean Research Dr. Saad Amin, and Director Research Dr. Almas Fasih Khattak, to strengthening institutional research capacity and fostering innovation in healthcare.
