MALAKAND, Jun 03 (APP):Provincial Ameer of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Maulana Atta ur Rehman, on Wednesday expressed serious concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in the province, stating that people were increasingly feeling insecure about the protection of their lives and property.
Addressing a meeting of JUI-F Malakand Division office-bearers in Batkhela, he said the martyrdom of religious scholars and incidents of violence in different parts of the province indicated that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was facing grave security challenges.
He said members of the provincial government appeared divided by internal groupings and differences, remaining engaged in political disputes instead of addressing public issues. This situation, he added, was negatively affecting government performance and public confidence.
The meeting was also addressed by Senator Maulana Atta ul Haq Darwish, Muhammad Rahim Haqqani, Maulana Salman Taseer, and Subhan Ali Khan.
Maulana Atta ur Rehman said the rising crime rate and incidents targeting religious scholars as well as ordinary citizens had raised serious questions about KP government policies. He urged concerned authorities to take immediate measures to ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property.
The JUI-F provincial chief stated that the people of KP desired peace, stability, and development, and called upon all relevant institutions to take practical and serious steps for the restoration of peace and resolution of public issues.
